Effective Use of Technology for the Flipped Classroom

Tuesday 25th June, 13:15 - 16:05, 8W1.34

This event will explore a variety of issues related to using technology to support learning and teaching both in the classroom and remotely. Faciliated by two experts in e-Learning (Kyriaki Anagnostopoulou, Head of e-Learning, University of Bath, and Dr Simon Ball, Senior Advisor, JISC TechDis) we will consider and discuss how learning and teaching can be enhanced by technology. Topics will include technology-for-learning, 'blended learning' (i.e. how technology-based approaches outside the classroom can be integrated with face-to-face activities) and accessibility (how technology can be used to support learning for all students, including those with disabilities).
Open to all staff and students with an interest in Flipping at the University of Bath!

Sharing Experiences of Flipping the Classroom

Event: 13:15 - 16:05: Open to All!
This event will give you an opportunity to share ideas, issues and experiences of 'Flipped' classroom approaches. Facilitated by an experienced 'Flipper', Dr Ross Galloway (University of Edinburgh) the format will take on the form of a Flipped classroom so you can experience it for yourselves! With contributions from the library and e-learning, you will also have a chance to find out more about relevant resources available at the University.

To prepare for this event, please read the following paper:
"The inverted classroom in a large enrolment introductory physics course: a case study."
and tell us what you found confusing about it. If you didn't find anything confusing, tell us what you found most interesting or would like to discuss further. Email your thoughts on this to Helen King by March 12th, so we can collate and review them in advance of the event.
